World Mental Health Day

World Mental Health Day 2016

10 October is World Mental Health Day. This is a great opportunity to raise awareness and education levels around mental health issues.

To celebrate, we are offering a free chapter from our new book Technical Anxiety: The complete guide to what is anxiety and what to do about it. Simply join our mailing list via the Technical Anxiety book page and we will email you your chapter to start reading straight away.

The book itself will be released shortly in both print and eBook formats. To get updates on when it is available, use the link above to subscribe to our mailing list, keep an eye on our blog, or follow us on any of our social media channels. It covers everything you need to know about anxiety including how it works, coping mechanisms, what treatments and help are available, and how to structure your life to be anxiety-friendly.

What is World Mental Health Day?

World Mental Health Day is a day for "global mental health education, awareness and advocacy against social stigma". It was founded in 1992, making it 24 years old, and is celebrated on 10 October each year. Each year is given a theme by the Mental Health Foundation. The 2016 theme is "Psychological First Aid", a technique used to try and reduce post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Previous themes have included dignity and living with schizophrenia.
